Hlynur Jóhannsson

Hlynur Jóhannsson is the Head of Software Development at Rapyd, a global fintech company, since October 2020, focusing on acquiring services for merchants in Europe using a technical stack that includes Java and NodeJS. Prior to Rapyd, Hlynur served as Chief Software Architect at Corivo, contributing to the development of the Corivo Travel Platform, and at Valitor, where coordination among development teams across four countries was a key responsibility. Earlier experience includes roles as a Software Engineer at Theriak, developing a system for electronic prescriptions for the Norwegian Ministry of Health, and at Kögun/Skýrr, working on solutions for the Iceland Air Defense System. Academic qualifications include a Master of Science in Computer Science and a Bachelor's degree in the same field from Háskóli Íslands, along with a brief stint as a visiting student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
