Ed Pierce has a diverse work experience spanning a range of roles and industries. Ed started their career as a Cabinet Maker at RD Woodwork, where they supervised a crew and was responsible for various tasks such as building, cutting, and laminating/veneering. Ed then transitioned to the role of Field Service Engineer at OPEX Corporation, where they serviced accounts and handled customer inquiries. Following this, Ed worked as an R&D Engineer at Applied Precision, Inc., where they were responsible for final assembly, testing, and troubleshooting. Ed also set up and configured software on PC and UNIX systems. Ed then moved to GE Healthcare as an R&D Development Engineer, where they transferred engineering projects to manufacturing and created mechanical drawings using 3D CAD. Ed also implemented Engineering Change Control actions and facilitated manufacturing and product improvement. More recently, Ed worked as a Senior Engineering Technician at OMAX Corporation, and they are currently employed as an R&D Engineer at RareCyte, Inc.

Ed Pierce obtained a Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from ITT Technical Institute-Seattle in 1994. In 2014, they earned a Certificate in Computer Numerically Controlled (CNC) Machinist Technology/CNC Machinist from Selway Machine Tool Co. The following year, in 2015, they received a Certificate in 3D Printer from GoEngineering. Additionally, in May 2016, Ed obtained the certification "Learn SOLIDWORKS: The Basics" from Lynda.com.
