Lopa van der Mersch has a diverse and extensive work experience. In 2015, they founded and became the CEO of Rasa, an adaptogen-packed wellness tonic company. From 2012 to 2015, they were a board member for Carbon Roots International. From 2010 to 2011, they were the co-founder and managing partner of The Biochar Company, where they were responsible for marketing, positioning, copywriting, industry relations, and business model strategy. In 2009, they were an advisory board member for the International Biochar Initiative. In 2011, they were a board member for Samavesha, producing an "Art In Nature" event. From 2007 to 2010, they were the co-founder and executive VP of Biochar Engineering Corporation, where they were responsible for market development, fundraising, PR, and investor relations. From 2010 to 2011, they were a senior advisor for Carbon War Room's Biochar Operation, where they worked closely with stakeholders to get biochar on the map of their programs. Finally, in 2008, they were a consultant for Global Cooling, a non-profit organization dedicated to the research and development of technology to stabilize the earth's temperature.
Lopa van der Mersch attended Colorado State University from 2000 to 2002, where they studied Molecular Biology, Music and English Education, and Spanish. Lopa also graduated from Dharma INC's 7 Year Program in Tantrik Yoga Studies Program.
