Tasha Pineda

Senior Program Officer, Strategy & Initiatives at Rasmuson Foundation

Tasha Pineda joined Rasmuson Foundation in August 2022 as a program officer but her work in nonprofits began at age 14. She brings 30 years of experience in the nonprofit, government and health care sectors. In 2002, she moved to Alaska from Portland, Oregon, to provide oversight and training on a statewide substance misuse prevention program with Boys & Girls Clubs of Alaska.

Tasha’s recent experiences include serving as director of accountable care with Providence Alaska and as director of the Anchorage Health Department, where she played a critical role in developing and executing the response to multiple public health emergencies, including the 2018 magnitude 7.1 earthquake and the COVID-19 pandemic. She served as deputy health official for the State of Alaska Department of Administration, working on strategies to improve care and lower costs for active employees and retirees. Her background also includes clinical services management, childcare licensing, a nutrition program, Medicaid expansion, criminal justice reform and substance misuse policy work.

Tasha received her Bachelor of Business Administration from Alaska Pacific University and a Master of Public Health from the University of Alaska. Since 2018, she has served on the University of Alaska Anchorage Master of Public Health Advisory Committee. In 2015 she was inducted into the Delta Omega Honor Society and was selected as an Alaska Journal of Commerce Top 40 Under 40.
