Ellie Proffitt has a diverse work experience spanning various roles and industries. Starting in 2011, they worked as a Senior Sales Assistant at Jigsaw UK, where they managed stock levels and assisted customers. In 2012, they began their career as an English Language Teacher, teaching at organizations such as Oxford House College, International House Prague, and Travel As You Like It. Ellie created lesson plans and delivered tailored English language lessons to learners of different ages and levels. Additionally, they supervised extracurricular activities and excursions. In 2013, they worked as a Teaching Assistant at The Lyceum School, supporting the class teacher with lesson preparation and providing academic and emotional support to students. Ellie also delivered interventions to individual children in core subjects. Later that year, they became a Teacher of English Language at International House London, delivering high-quality English lessons to teenage learners at a residential summer camp. Ellie adapted teaching content and methods to suit learners' interests and abilities and supervised other activities. In 2014, they worked as an English Language Teacher at Oxford House College, where they again created schemes of work and delivered English language lessons to teenagers of various nationalities. Ellie also improved their teaching skills through regular self-evaluation and goal-setting. In the same year, they worked as a Primary School Teacher at Primary Advantage, where they developed strong lesson planning skills and creative delivery skills. Ellie used self-evaluation techniques to continuously improve their teaching. From 2015 to 2022, they worked at Childnet International, first as an Education Officer, educating young people, educators, and parents on online safety topics. Ellie also identified trends and created educational content. As a Senior Education Officer, they mentored young people and produced educational resources. Finally, as the Education and Youth Engagement Manager, they managed the Education Team, cultivated the school network, and oversaw the team's outputs. Currently, they are serving as the Code Club Global Partnerships Manager at the Raspberry Pi Foundation, where they are responsible for growing the Code Club global partner network, sustaining existing partnerships, and implementing partner onboarding strategies.
Ellie Proffitt has a diverse education history. In 2005, they attended the University of Bristol, where they completed a degree in History of Art, graduating in 2008. Following this, in 2009, Ellie enrolled at the University of the Arts London, where they earned a Post Graduate Diploma in Paper Conservation, finishing their studies in 2010. Ellie later pursued teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language, receiving a CELTA certificate from WCG in 2012. Lastly, in 2014, Ellie attended IOE - UCL's Faculty of Education and Society, where they completed the School Direct Primary program and obtained a degree in Education in 2015.
