Yago Alcaina

Yago Alcaina, PhD, currently serves as Scientist II at Ratio Therapeutics since April 2023. Previously, Yago held postdoctoral associate positions at Weill Cornell Medicine from September 2017 to April 2023, working in laboratories directed by Dr. Moonsoo Jin and Dr. Benedict Shek Law. Prior to this, Yago was a researcher at the Institute for Medical and Molecular Genetics (INGEMM) from October 2015 to August 2017, contributing to the Thyroid Molecular Laboratory under Dr. Jose Carlos Moreno. Yago's experience also includes a role as a visiting scholar at Magee-Womens Hospital in 2015, where assistance was provided in a project on centrosome dynamics on mouse embryonic stages, and serving as a teaching assistant during a stem cell course. Yago completed a PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid from 2009 to 2013, and holds an Advanced Studies Diploma in the Doctorate Program in Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, and Biomedicine from the same institution, along with a Bachelor of Science in Biology obtained in 2007.
