Erik Vanhorn

World Development Art Director at Ravensburger

Erik VanHorn has a diverse work experience in the field of art and animation. Erik is currently working as the World Development Art Director at Ravensburger since April 2022. Prior to this, they held the position of Program Director of Game Art and Associate Professor of Animation at The University of the Arts since September 2016. Erik also worked as an Animation Supervisor at Gallus Productions Inc. from May 2016 to September 2016. Erik served as the 3D Department Lead at Rocket Science VFX from January 2016 to April 2016. Erik worked as a Modeling/Rigging Supervisor at Arc Productions from August 2015 to December 2015 and as an Art Director at North Star Games from May 2015 to September 2015. Erik's previous experience includes the role of Digital Art Director, Magic at Wizards of the Coast from May 2012 to May 2015, where they were involved in various projects and served as a Senior Art Director, UI/UX lead for Magic: Duels of the Planeswalkers. Erik has also worked as the Game Production Program Chair at International Academy of Design and Technology from June 2010 to May 2012. Prior to that, Erik worked in various roles such as Lighting & Character TD and Technical Animator at yU+co, and Lead Animator at Pitch Black Games.

Erik VanHorn pursued their education, specializing in art-related fields. From 1989 to 1994, they attended Shepherd University, where they completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with a focus on Fine Arts. Continuing their academic journey, from 1998 to 2001, Erik enrolled at the Savannah College of Art and Design, where they earned a Master of Fine Arts degree in Computer Art.
