Jennifer L. Seme

Ms. Seme is of Counsel in their Philadelphia office who practices in their Firm’s products liability, construction liability, and casualty groups.

Ms. Seme represents manufacturers in breach of contract matters, warranty claims and products liability. Her product liability cases include defending manufacturers of cranes, hair care products, table saws, pressure cookers and hand tools. Ms. Seme has successfully defended clients in arbitrations involving personal injuries and breaches of contract, with more than half of those matters resulting in defense awards. Ms. Seme also obtained a judgment during bench trial for a reinsurer on issues of first impression before the Honorable Judge Gary S. Glazer in Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas.

After graduating law school, Ms. Seme served as a corporate counsel for a major insurance company before serving as a law clerk in the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas. Prior to joining Rawle, Ms. Seme was a successful product liability attorney for a large Philadelphia law firm where she developed successful defense strategies in products liability matter. Most recently, Ms. Seme was counsel at a Mid-Atlantic products liability firm where she counseled clients on strategies in construction and catastrophic injury suits and in defending manufacturers and retailers in product liability and warranty claim actions.

Ms. Seme has been recognized by The Legal Intelligencer as a “Lawyer on the Fast Track” and by Pennsylvania Super Lawyers as a “Rising Star in Products Defense.” Ms. Seme is Pro Bono Roll of Honor recipient for the First Judicial District of Pennsylvania for her work with the Homeless Advocacy Project and the Support Center for Child Advocates.

Ms. Seme spoke at the American Bar Association’s Litigation Joint Product Liability and Environmental Law Conference where she presented on the topic of “Mass Torts and Products Update: Big Cases and Big Developments” and “Deposition Toolkit.” She also has spoken at the Philadelphia Association of Defense Counsel on “National Trends in Product Liability Litigation.”
