Jonathan Sommersett

Jonathan Sommersett is a highly experienced technical professional in the lighting industry, currently serving as Technical Director at Raytec since April 2020, with prior roles including Technical Manager and Product Manager for the Hazardous Area Division. Previously, Jonathan held positions such as Head of Operations and Engineering Manager at Low Carbon Lighting Limited, where responsibilities included the design and development of LED luminaires. Jonathan also served as Design Manager at Professional Lighting Solutions, leading the development of innovative lighting designs and overseeing product design services. As an Optical Design Engineer at Thorn Lighting, Jonathan successfully launched over 17 new product ranges, including notable advancements in LED technology. Jonathan began a career as Team Leader at Schmitz Cargobull and conducted a scientific survey as a Science Bursary Recipient at The Nuffield Foundation. Jonathan holds a BSc in Physics from Durham University.
