Troy Smith

Troy Smith has a diverse work experience in the healthcare industry, spanning over several companies and roles. Troy has recently been working at RAYUS Radiology as a Principal Imaging Specialist since February 2023. Prior to that, they worked at Tennova Healthcare for nearly 30 years, holding various positions such as Supervisor of Information Systems, RIS PACS Administrator Manager, and RIS/PACS Administrator. During their time at Tennova Healthcare, Troy implemented a filmless environment and maintained a database archive of Plasmon 2. Before joining Tennova Healthcare, they worked at Mercy Health Partners as a Team Leader, Shift Supervisor, and Electronic Imaging Specialist, where they were responsible for problem-solving CR and DR systems and maintaining quality assurance and management processes. Troy Smith started their career as a Radiological Technologist at Lafollette Medical Center in 1994 and later became a Staff Technologist. Troy also had a brief stint as a Radiological Technologist at Jellico Community Hospital in the early 1990s.

Troy Smith holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science from Southern New Hampshire University, which they obtained from 2017 to 2022. Before that, they completed an Associate of Applied Science degree in Radiological Technology at Roane State Community College from 2004 to 2006. In 1991 to 1993, they attended Cumberland Valley Health Occupations Center and received an RT (R) certification in Radiological Technology. Additionally, Troy obtained their high school diploma from Bell County High in the period of 1986 to 1990. Troy also holds certifications as a Certified Imaging Informatics Professional (CIIP) from ABII, earned in 2008 and 2009.
