Joe Tran

Joe Tran is an experienced pharmaceutical scientist with a focus on medicinal chemistry and drug development. Currently serving as Associate Director at RayzeBio since August 2021, Joe previously held the position of Principal Scientist at Vertex Pharmaceuticals, where research efforts included developing treatments for cystic fibrosis and pain management. Earlier in their career, Joe worked at Dart Neuroscience as a Scientist III, advancing drug design for GPCR targets, and at Cylene Pharmaceuticals as Senior Scientist, creating selective small molecule inhibitors for multiple myeloma. Joe's role as Principal Scientist at Neurocrine Biosciences involved research on GPCR ligands and lead compound optimization. Commencing as Scientist II at MiniMed, Joe contributed to projects on glucose recognition. Joe holds a Ph.D. in Organic Chemistry from UC Irvine and a B.S. in Chemistry from California State University, Fullerton.
