Alex Pashevich is a Senior Machine Learning Researcher at Borealis AI since September 2022, with prior experience as a Machine Learning Researcher. At Inria from September 2017 to October 2021, Alex served as a PhD Candidate and published five papers in top-tier conferences across various domains, including imitation and reinforcement learning, robotics, and computer vision. A research intern at Google from September 2020 to March 2021, Alex developed a multimodal transformer architecture that improved results on a Vision Language Navigation task by 74%. Earlier, as a research intern at Inria, Alex invented an outlier detection algorithm leveraging Gaussian mixture models, contributing to a publication in the Pattern Recognition Letters journal. Alex holds a PhD in Computer Science from Université Grenoble Alpes and a Master's degree in Computer Science from Grenoble INP - UGA, as well as a Bachelor's degree in Applied Mathematics and Physics from the Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology.
