Leila Pishdad

Leila Pishdad is a seasoned expert in machine learning and research, currently serving as the Machine Learning Research Team Lead and Senior Machine Learning Researcher at Borealis AI since September 2021. Prior to this role, Leila held positions at Samsung Research (Toronto AI Centre) as a Senior Research Scientist and Senior Research Engineer, and worked as a Senior Data Scientist at RBC. Earlier experience includes roles as a R&D Robotic Engineer at AI Incorporated and as a Research Scientist at Elekta LTD., where responsibilities included developing algorithms for medical imaging and radiation therapy. Leila's academic background includes a PhD in Electrical, Electronics and Communications Engineering from McGill University and a Master's in Computer Engineering from Sharif University of Technology, alongside a Bachelor's in Industrial Engineering from Iran University of Science and Technology.
