Steve Cobb has over 30 years of work experience in various roles and positions. Steve started their career at Westinghouse Defense Electronics as a Field Engineer & Manager, where they led the development and integration of a bus drive system for electric vehicles. Steve then moved on to Northrop Grumman Electronic Systems, where they served as a Program Manager and successfully managed multiple projects worth over $25M. After that, they joined Satcon Applied Technology as the Director & General Manager, a role they continued in at Satcon Technology Corporation. Currently, they are the President of RCT Systems, Inc., where they specialize in power systems, cybersecurity, and government integration.

Steve Cobb attended Appomattox County High School from 1977 to 1980, where they graduated with honors. Following this, they attended the University of Virginia from 1980 to 1984 and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Computer Science/EE.
