Regional Director, Canada West, Building Science Specialist at RDH

Working across a wide spectrum of RDH’s core practice areas in his roles as a consultant, researcher, and educator, Lorne is able to leverage his multifaceted expertise to identify optimal solutions to complex building science problems. His portfolio includes various innovative projects, such as Oakridge, Yasodhara Ashram Temple of Light, and Nelson Street Passive House.

As a trusted consultant, Lorne regularly works closely with architects and developers to achieve their design and performance goals. Lorne’s typical projects include world-class architecture, industry-leading energy efficiency, and cutting-edge building technologies.

In his role as leader of our Building Science Laboratories team in Vancouver, Lorne works with manufacturers, governments, and industry organization to develop and test the next generation of building systems, and to lead change through the production of numerous industry-leading guidance and research documents.

Lorne is deeply committed to education and is an accomplished presenter, having spoken at numerous conferences and industry events across North America. In addition to his work with RDH, Lorne also passes on his knowledge to the next generation of engineers as an Adjunct Professor at the University of British Columbia, where he teaches building science in the Department of Civil Engineering.
