John C L Evans has a diverse work experience spanning over several industries and roles. John C L started their career as an R&D consultant for new ride systems at Vekoma Rides Manufacturing in 1992. John C L then went on to become the director of cultural programs at the 1994 Winter Olympics in Lillehammer, Norway, followed by the role of director of design and planning at Liseberg AB in Göteborg, Sweden. In 1997, they became the principal designer at THinc Design in New York, NY. From 2000 to 2004, they served as the vice president of design and engineering at the Sea Research Foundation - Mystic Aquarium & Institute for Exploration. In 2004, they became the president of Xplore Inc. and held the position until 2017. During their time at Xplore Inc., they also served as the Xplore owner representative consultant at Alexion from 2015 to 2017. John C L then worked as the public safety manager at Volvo Ocean Race Newport from 2017 to 2018. After that, they joined SAIC as a program management principal in the Navy & Marine Corps Group from 2017 to 2018. Finally, in 2018, they became the director of special projects & innovation at Research and Development Solutions, Inc., and later also took on the role of executive vice president in 2020. Overall, John C L Evans has extensive experience in leadership, program management, design, and engineering roles across various industries.
John C L Evans earned their BA in Architecture and Fine Art from Connecticut College from 1982 to 1986. John C L also attended the Institute for Architecture & Urban Studies in 1984, studying Architectural History, Design, Drafting, Engineering, and Urban Studies. In the same year, they briefly studied at New York University. Additionally, John obtained certifications in ICS-400 from FEMA/CTDEMHS in 2018, ICS-320 from the U.S. Coast Guard in 2015, and Emergency Medical Responder (EMR) from the Connecticut Department of Public Health.
