Michelle Witkins, CMP has a diverse range of work experience in the events industry. Starting their career as a Sales Assistant & Organizer to Owner at The Collage Boutique, they demonstrated their organizational skills and customer service abilities. Michelle then worked as an intern at IO Creative, where they contributed to various event-related tasks and projects. Michelle further developed their event management skills as an Event Manager at Lowenstein Event Marketing Group.
In 2011, Michelle joined Lowe's Companies, Inc. as a Customer Service Representative, handling a variety of customer service tasks. The following year, they became a Business Development Coordinator at the York County Convention & Visitors Bureau, where they focused on sales, sponsorship, and membership-related responsibilities.
Michelle then transitioned to the Baltimore Convention Center, where they served as a Convention Services Manager. In this role, they managed the planning, logistics, and execution of various events, ensuring client satisfaction and compliance with building regulations.
Continuing their career growth, Michelle became the Director of Meetings and Events at the Top of the Hill Banquet and Conference Center at the Reserve Organization of America (ROA) in 2016. Here, they led the entire event process and maintained strong relationships with clients to ensure repeat business. Under their leadership, revenue increased by 18% during their tenure.
In 2021, Michelle accepted the role of Director of Events at the Baltimore Country Club, overseeing event operations for two club campus locations. Michelle managed a large team and successfully executed over 1000 events per year, generating significant revenue for the club.
Currently, Michelle is working as the Manager of Conference & Event Operations at RE+ Events, where they continue to apply their expertise in managing conferences and events.
Michelle Witkins, CMP earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Hospitality and Recreation Marketing Operations from York College of Pennsylvania, where they studied from 2006 to 2010. Prior to that, they obtained their High School Diploma from Pitman High School, which they attended from 2003 to 2006. In addition to their formal education, Michelle Witkins also holds certifications as a Certified Meeting Planner (CMP) from the Convention Industry Council, which they obtained in November 2015, and as a Certified Tourism Ambassador (CTA) from the Certified Tourism Ambassador™ (CTA) Program, which they obtained in November 2014.
