Barry Dearden

Barry Dearden has a diverse range of work experience in finance and leadership roles. Barry began their career as a Trainee Management Accountant at TNT, where they were responsible for producing monthly management accounts and fostering relationships with Account Managers. Barry then moved on to U.C.I. (UK) Ltd as a Construction Accountant Supervisor, overseeing capital expenditure and reporting for both UK and Ireland sites. After that, they joined Multipart, later known as Multipart (RAC Group), as a Financial Controller and held the position for nine years. At T123 Ltd, they served as the Finance & IT Director, implementing financial and commercial strategies while collaborating with external funders. Barry then worked at MEN Media as both a Financial Controller and later as the Head of Finance, before joining the Manchester Publicity Association as their Treasurer. Currently, they are the Head of Finance - Editorial & Publishing Portfolio at Reach plc.

Barry Dearden attended Bacup & Rawtenstall Grammar School from 1984 to 1992. Barry then pursued a BA (Hons) degree in Economics at Northumbria University from 1992 to 1995. Afterward, they completed a Post-Grad MA in Economics at The University of Manchester from 1995 to 1996. In 2002, Barry obtained the ACMA, CGMA certification from CIMA.
