David Higgerson has a diverse work experience in the media industry. David currently holds the position of Chief Digital Publisher at Reach plc, a role they began in June 2022. Prior to this, they served as Deputy Group Editor-in-Chief and Chief Audience Officer at Reach plc from November 2021 to June 2022 and from November 2018 to November 2021, respectively. David also held the position of Digital Editorial Strategy Director at Reach plc from June 2017 to January 2019.

Before joining Reach plc, David worked as the Digital Publishing Director for Trinity Mirror (Regionals) starting in January 2012. Prior to that, they served as the Digital Editorial Strategy Director at Trinity Mirror plc from June 2017 to January 2019. David also held the role of Head of Multimedia at Trinity Mirror from 2008 to 2011.

David's career began at the Lancashire Evening Telegraph in 2000, where they worked as an Assistant news editor/chief reporter/local government reporter until 2006. In this role, they were responsible for local government and politics coverage, led campaigns, and contributed to content about major issues. David was also part of a three-strong newsdesk in addition to their reporting duties.

David Higgerson attended Runshaw College, Leyland from 2006 to 2008, where they studied English, History, and Media.
