Kurumi Horiuchi

Kurumi Horiuchi is the Senior Director of Biochemistry at Reaction Biology. Prior to their current position, they worked as an Enzymologist for both DuPont Pharmaceuticals and Bristol-Myers Squibb.

Kurumi has been involved in all stages of Drug Discovery activities, from target identification to clinical studies. This includes High Throughput Screening (HTS), SAR, and mode of action studies for lead compounds. Kurumi has also collaborate with other therapeutic groups, focusing on difficult enzymes and problem compounds. In addition, they have developed various assays for kinetic analyses of target enzymes in areas such as cancer, inflammatory diseases, anti-bacteria, antiviral, and cardiovascular diseases.

Kurumi’s experience and expertise have made their an invaluable asset to Reaction Biology. Under their leadership, the team has made great strides in their research and development efforts.

After completing their undergraduate degree at Waseda University, Kurumi Horiuchi went on to earn their Doctor of Philosophy in Biophysics from the same school.
