Executive Director, Greater Hartford at Read to a Child

Lily Andrews has a diverse range of work experience. Lily is currently the Executive Director for Greater Hartford at Read to a Child, a role they have held since September 2019. Prior to that, they worked as a Principal at Samuels Strategy starting in March 2017. From November 2010 to March 2017, Lily served as the Vice President of Drakeley Industries, where they provided executive leadership and oversaw operations, implementing cost-cutting measures and process overhauls. Lily also has experience as the Director of Institutional Giving at Phoenix House, where they managed a multi-million dollar portfolio in grants and developed a strategic plan for institutional giving. Lily has also worked as the Director of Programs - Africa at the Auschwitz Institute for the Prevention of Genocide and Mass Atrocities, creating programming for African beneficiaries and coordinating partnerships with various government and international organizations. Lily started their career as an intern for the Crisis Response and Reconstruction Unit at the International Labour Organization, where they provided research support and performed monitoring and evaluation for post-earthquake programming in Haiti and post-conflict labor programs in Liberia.

Lily Andrews completed their Bachelor's Degree in Government and International Relations at Smith College from 2007 to 2011. Following this, they pursued a Master's Degree in Human Rights Studies at Columbia University from 2011 to 2013. In 2009 to 2010, they were a visiting student at the Geneva Graduate Institute, focusing on Armed Conflict & Human Rights. In February 2014, Lily obtained a certification in Raiser's Edge - Essentials I from Blackbaud.
