Joyce MacEk

Joyce Macek is an experienced educational leader currently serving as the Executive Director of Reading Partners Seattle since October 2021, where the organization partners with AmeriCorps and over 500 volunteers to support students in Title I schools, achieving significant literacy growth. Prior to this role, Joyce was the Director of Partnerships at UnboundEd, overseeing recruitment and strategic advisory for district attendees, and served as a Fellow for Educator Engagement at the Regents Research Fund, where innovative instructional resources were developed. Additional experience includes positions as the National Director of Assessment and Quality Assurance at New Leaders for New Schools, where leadership assessment strategies were designed, and as the Director of Teacher Training at Network for Teaching Entrepreneurship. Joyce began a career in education as an English Teacher at East St John High School, focusing on curriculum development for students with varied learning needs. Joyce holds a degree from Northwestern University.
