David Durnford

Chief Executive at Reading Room

David Durnford has a diverse work experience spanning multiple industries and leadership roles. David is currently serving as the Chief Executive of Reading Room since November 2018. Prior to this, they held the same position at RONIN International starting from October 2016.

From May 2014, David worked as the Chief Executive at Fat Media Limited, where their responsibilities included providing strategic direction and leadership to over 400 employees across the Fat Media Group. The group consisted of Fat Media, a digital agency, and Ronin, an international research and data collection agency.

Before joining Fat Media, David was the Owner of Motive from February 2009 to May 2014. David also served as the Owner of Smallworld Cable from January 2006 to January 2014, during which they absorbed Netfonics Limited, a telecoms training provider and supplier of managed IT services to SMEs.

Earlier in their career, David worked at AS Watson as the Marketing Director from March 2001 to November 2003. David also held the position of Marketing Director, Food Asia at AS Watson from September 2002 to November 2003. Prior to that, they worked as the Marketing Director, Snackfood at Mars Ireland, and as a Franchise Manager at Mars.

David's work experience also includes a role as a Snr Brand Manager at Reckitt & Colman from 1993 to 1995.

David Durnford's education history begins in 1986 when they attended Durham University. David pursued a Bachelor's degree in Economics and obtained a Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Economics in 1989.

After a considerable gap in their education, David returned to academic pursuits in 2016. David enrolled at Lancaster University and embarked on a Master of Business Administration (MBA) program, which they completed in 2018. Subsequently, they further advanced their studies by pursuing an additional MBA degree at Lancaster University, concluding their education in 2019.

Furthermore, it is worth noting that David also holds a certification in BA (Hons) Economics from Durham University, obtained at an undisclosed time.
