Gernethia Barnes, CSM, MSPM

Gernethia Barnes has worked in various roles throughout their career. Gernethia is currently employed as a Technical Project Manager at Reailize, a B-Yond company, where they focus on driving transformation and revolutionizing network operations. Prior to this, they held the same role at B-Yond.

Before joining Reailize and B-Yond, Gernethia worked as a Project Manager at Broadcast Sports International, LLC from 2021 to 2022.

Gernethia also has experience in the media industry, having worked at SiriusXM as a Satellite Transmission Specialist from 2018 to 2021 and at ESPN as a Transmission Systems Specialist from 2016 to 2018. In these roles, they were responsible for maintaining the quality and reliability of broadcast signals and equipment, as well as managing complex satellite distribution systems.

Earlier in their career, Gernethia worked at the USDA as a Technical Information Specialist Trainee in 2016.

Their experience in the media industry also includes roles at ESPN as a Motion Graphics Coordinator from 2015 to 2016, where they played a key role in coordinating graphic design processes for remote and studio productions, and as an Associate Media Coordinator from 2013 to 2015. Gernethia began their career at ESPN as a Production Assistant from 2010 to 2013, providing support for live and taped studio shows and remote events.

Gernethia Barnes, CSM, MSPM has a Master of Science (MS) degree in Operations & Project Management from Southern New Hampshire University, which they obtained from 2015 to 2019. Gernethia also holds a Graduate Certificate in Project Management from the same institution, completed between 2017 and 2018. Additionally, they obtained a Bachelor's degree in Journalism & Mass Communication from the University of Oklahoma, where they studied from 2006 to 2010. In terms of certifications, Gernethia Barnes obtained the Certified ScrumMaster® (CSM®) certification from the Scrum Alliance in February 2023.
