Born in Montreal, Québec, Dan joined the Canadian Forces in 1998, attending the Royal Military College of Canada. He graduated in 2002 with a bachelor’s degree in civil engineering. Over the next eight years, Dan deployed to Afghanistan and Sudan in addition to completing his master’s degree in Human Security and Peacebuilding (Royal Roads).
In 2010, Dan transferred to the Army Reserve and returned to Montreal. He spent the next years as the Associate Director of Project Management at McGill University. During this time, he also completed his MBA (Concordia), PMP and as a Reservist deployed with the UN to the DR Congo as well as on several domestic operations.
In 2019, Dan was recruited as a Project Director by WSP Canada, a Montreal-based global engineering consulting firm with close to 70,000 employees in 550 offices in 40 countries. In 2022 he was appointed to his current position within the company.
Also in 2020, Dan was appointed the Commanding Officer of 34 Combat Engineer Regiment and most recently in 2021, commanded the Territorial Battalion Group (Montreal) on OP VECTOR, the operation supporting vaccine rollout in the region.
Dan is Vice President on the Saint John Ambulance Brigade (Québec) Board of Directors as well as a Director on the Board of the Vimy Foundation. When not working, Dan spends the majority of his time shuttling his two children to hockey arenas throughout the Montreal area for their practices and games.
