At Reality Changers, we believe that college changes everything. Our mission is to prepare youth to become first generation college graduates and agents of change in their communities. Our vision is equitable and universal access to education. Since our inception, program graduates have earned over $140,000,000 in scholarships to attend institutions such as UCSD, Brown, Columbia, Dartmouth, Duke, Harvard, Princeton, Stanford, UC Berkeley, and UCLA (among other top-25 institutions), including 29 Gates Millennium Scholarship recipients. Reality Changers fills the special need of providing hope to students in Southern California’s toughest communities. Students in our communities may not have it easy, but this shouldn't prevent them from becoming first generation college students. Our theory of change is that when low-income, high-potential students are given the mechanisms and support to envision a better future for themselves, they will become more confident, capable, and motivated to enroll and succeed in college and career.
