Ruth Knewstubb is an experienced professional in human resources and people management, currently serving in the senior leadership team for Cardrona and Treble Cone at RealNZ since May 2022. Previously, Ruth held the role of Chief People Officer at Farmlands Co-operative Society Limited, leading initiatives for over 1,400 staff and 75,000 shareholders from February 2014 to April 2022. Ruth has an extensive background in business transformation, particularly as a Business Transformation Owner for a significant cultural and digital initiative in partnership with Microsoft, and has also held senior HR positions at Fletcher Building, SBS Bank, Hudson, and REED. Ruth's educational qualifications include a Graduate Diploma in Human Resources Management from the University of Canterbury and membership in various professional organizations, as well as certifications in change management and facilitation.

Our family business was founded in Fiordland in the 1950s by tourism and conservation pioneers Les and Olive Hutchins. Sixty years later, we offer tourism experiences from Rakiura Stewart Island to Whakatipu Queenstown; including world-renowned cruises through Piopiotahi Milford Sound and Patea Doubtful Sound, the Te Anau Glowworm Caves and heritage steamship TSS Earnslaw. For us, the aim is still quite simple – to share the natural heritage and astounding beauty of the region with visitors – just as our founders intended.
