Nathaniel Golden Jr. has extensive work experience in youth advocacy and leadership programs. Nathaniel started their career in 1996 at the Boys & Girls Aid Society, where they worked as a Lead Youth Support Counselor for nearly four years. In 2000, Nathaniel moved on to the Youth Employment Institute, serving as a Youth Advocate until 2003. Nathaniel then joined REAP, Inc. in 2005 as the Director of Operations. At REAP, Nathaniel played a significant role in empowering marginalized student populations and inspiring them to become future leaders.
Nathaniel Golden Jr. completed their high school education at Madison High School in 1987, receiving a High School Diploma in College/Preparatory studies. Following that, they enrolled in Clackamas Community College from 1987 to 1989, where they focused specifically on Sociology but did not earn a degree. Nathaniel then transferred to the University of Washington in 1989 and studied Sociology for two years without completing a degree. Finally, from 1992 to 1995, they attended Portland State University and obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Administration of Justice.
