Nicolas Bruneau

Nicolas Bruneau has a diverse work experience in various roles and industries spanning from 2004 to the present. Nicolas is currently a Co-Founder at reask since May 2018. Prior to that, they worked as a Coastal Ocean Modelling Scientist at the National Oceanography Centre from October 2017 to March 2020. From February 2015 to September 2017, they served as a Post-Doctoral Research Associate at Imperial College London. Nicolas also worked as a Catastrophe Risk Modeller at RMS from March 2013 to January 2015. Further back, they were an Ocean Model Manager at the British Antarctic Survey from January 2012 to February 2013. Nicolas held a Research Assistant position at LNEC from March 2009 to December 2011, where their research focused on 3D morphodynamic modeling of wave-dominated tidal inlets/lagoons. Nicolas also had short-term roles as a Visiting Scientist at LIENSs-UMR 6250 in 2011 and as an M.Sc. training intern at EDF/LNHE in 2005. Nicolas completed their PhD in Environmental Physics with a research focus on morphodynamical modeling of sandy beaches at UMR CNRS 5805 EPOC in Bordeaux from December 2005 to January 2009. Nicolas obtained a graduate training period in dispersion of pollutants in urban areas at the University of Surrey in 2004.

Nicolas Bruneau began their education in 2000 at Lycee Alain Fournier in Bourges, France, where they studied Mathematics and Physics. In the same year, they also attended Lycee Pierre et Marie Curie in Chateauroux, France, and earned their Baccalaureate degree with a focus on Mathematics and Physics.

Nicolas continued their studies at Université de Bordeaux, starting in 2002. From 2002 to 2003, they pursued a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics. In 2004 and 2005, they completed a Master's degree in Mathematical Engineering. Nicolas furthered their education at the same university, undertaking a PhD program in Environmental Physics with a specific focus on Coastal Oceanography from 2006 to 2009.
