Andrew Newman has been working in the technology industry since 2000. Andrew began their career at Click Commerce as an Architect. In 2001, they founded GIANT Company Software, Inc. and developed internet security products, including GIANT Spam Inspector, GIANT Popup Inspector, and GIANT AntiSpyware. The company had offices in New York, Chicago, and Atlanta. Microsoft acquired GIANT in 2004, and Andrew was appointed Lead Security Program Manager Windows Defender. Andrew released the first version of Microsoft Anti-Spyware and designed the second generation Microsoft antimalware platform Windows Defender. Andrew also led numerous research related malware detection projects. In 2008, they founded Sortuva Company Inc., where they developed an associated search engine that was ahead of its time. The platform eventually morphed into a mobile iOS and Facebook app which won the FBFund in 2009. In 2010, they founded Red Foundry and served as CTO. Finally, in 2012, they founded ReasonLabs and served as CTO, where they built PC security and anti-frustration products.
Andrew Newman attended the University of Rhode Island from 1993 to 1997, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Political Science.
