Tong Gu

Tong Gu has been working in the fashion industry since 2010. In 2010, they worked as a Designer Assistant at Make & Match Guangzhou Fashion Co., Ltd. where they attended fashion shows and reviewed garment magazines and manuals to gather information about fashion trends and consumer preferences. Tong also designed new garments and adapted other designers' ideas for the mass markets. In 2011, they became the Senior Fashion Designer at Guangdong Textiles Imp. & Exp. Co. Ltd. where they were in charge of the fashion design department and directed and coordinated 50+ workers. Tong was responsible for the entire design process from market research to sketching. In 2015, they worked as a Cosmetics Sales Associate at Macy's. In 2016, they worked as a Graphic Designer at Dallas Chinese News where they designed a variety of advertisements for the newspaper and yellow page. In 2017, they became a Senior Product Coordinator and Product Coordinator at Rebel Athletic. As a Product Coordinator, they liaised with sales reps and technical packages according to prototype issues, followed through on any changes after the first prototype, and resolved technical and design issues. Tong also inspected prototypes in person or by pictures and sent out approval emails for bulk production.

Tong Gu obtained a Bachelor degree in Fashion Design from the Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts between 2006 and 2010. In 2014, they received a Cosmetic make-up certificate from the City & Guilds of London Institute.
