Elena Favilli

Founder and Chief Creative Officer at Rebel Girls

Elena Favilli has held a variety of roles in their career. In 2012, they became a Board Member and Founder and Chief Creative Officer of Rebel Girls. Elena later became the Founder and CEO of the same company. From 2010-2012, they were the Chief Foreign Politics Editor at Il Post, a leading Italian digital native newspaper. While at Il Post, they led research, design, production, editing, and breaking news analysis of all foreign politics coverage. Elena was also responsible for leading the social media strategy to maximize the impact of real time publishing and engagement. From 2008-2010, they were the Editor in Chief and Senior Associate Editor at COLORS magazine. As Senior Associate Editor, they led a team of five staff writers and dozens of freelance writers, and managed the entire editorial process from conceptual development to writing, editing, and marketing. Additionally, in 2008 they were a Senior Market Researcher at Baba Consulting.

Elena Favilli received their Bachelor's Degree from Alma Mater Studiorum - Università di Bologna between 2001 and 2004. Elena then pursued a Master's degree in Semiotics at the same university, graduating with high honours in 2007. During their Master's studies, they also attended the University of California, Berkeley for a year in 2005-2006, studying Journalism.
