Sergio Marrero

Sergio Marrero is the managing partner at Rebel One. Sergio has also served as an adjunct professor, head of the George Shultz Innovation Fund, and senior associate.

Sergio Marrero has over three years of experience in the venture capital industry. In May 2021, they joined HBCUvc as an adjunct professor, where they facilitated training remotely for a cohort of 40+ venture capital professionals across 15+ venture capital firms focused on technical capabilities covering topics such as conducting due diligence, building financial models and extended market and competitive analysis. Sergio Marrero has also worked as the head of the George Shultz Innovation Fund at the University of Chicago from December 2020 to June 2022, where they drove deal flow and operations for two funds representing $35M. Sergio also led the George Shultz Innovation Fund (GSIF) - a $10M fund focused on accelerating technology transfers and deep tech founders launching out of the university. Lastly, Sergio Marrero was a senior associate at Venture University from June 2018 to June 2019.
