Carrie Hernandez has a diverse and extensive work experience in the aerospace industry. Carrie began their career in the United States Air Force, working as a Developmental Engineer from 2003 to 2007. Following their time in the Air Force, Carrie worked as a Systems Engineer at TASC, Inc. from 2006 to 2010. Carrie then joined Booz Allen Hamilton as a Cyber Operations specialist in 2010.

In 2011, Carrie transitioned to Engility Corporation (formerly TASC) as a Program Manager and Senior Engineer, a role they held until 2014. During this time, they developed a system certification program for operators, engineers, and technicians.

Carrie then joined SpaceX in 2014 as the Range Ops and Communications Manager, overseeing launch site communications and developing integrated systems. From 2016 to 2017, they served as the Falcon Systems Certification Manager at SpaceX.

In 2017, Carrie joined Slingshot Aerospace as the Vice President, where they worked until 2018. Carrie then moved on to Rocket Lab as a Senior Mission Manager, a position they held until 2019.

Carrie's most recent role is as the CEO and Co-Founder of Rebel Space Technologies, a position they have held since 2019.

Carrie Hernandez's education history includes a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Wyoming, which they obtained between the years 1998 and 2002. Carrie then pursued a Master of Science degree in Electrical Engineering at the University of Colorado Colorado Springs from 2005 to 2007. In 2004, they enrolled in Southern Methodist University, where they earned a Master of Science degree in Systems Engineering, completing their studies in 2011. Finally, Carrie Hernandez furthered their education by pursuing a Doctor of Philosophy in Electrical and Electronics Engineering at The University of Texas at San Antonio, which they successfully completed between 2012 and 2014.
