Chris Krewson

Steering Committee Member at Rebuild Local News

Chris Krewson is the Executive Director of LION Publishers, where significant transformations were made to evolve the organization from a volunteer-supported peer group into a staffed 501(c)(3) with a multimillion-dollar budget, while more than doubling membership and tripling the operating budget from 2019 to 2023. Additionally, Chris serves on the Steering Committee for Rebuild Local News and is a Founding Board Member of Tiny News Collective, while also teaching Entrepreneurial Journalism at Temple University. Previously, Chris held strategic roles at Spirited Media, Billy Penn, Digital First Media, The Hollywood Reporter, Variety, and the Philadelphia Inquirer, demonstrating extensive experience in both digital journalism and media management. Chris holds a BA in Journalism from Penn State University and has furthered professional education through various institutions, including the Poynter Institute’s Media Transformation Challenge.
