Andrew Sofranko

Andrew Sofranko is a seasoned professional in the renewable energy sector, currently serving as Vice President of Engineering at REC Solar since October 2010, where responsibilities have included photovoltaic system design, project development, and process refinement. Andrew has held various roles at REC Solar, including Engineering Manager and Sr. Sales Engineer, contributing significantly to mainstream solar solutions. Additional experience includes a position as Renewable Engineering Manager at Duke Energy Corporation and a Senior Project role at Cal Poly, where Andrew designed a traversing mechanism for UAV testing. Early career beginnings involved an internship at the California Center for Sustainable Energy and work as an Installer at Sofranko Solar, providing a strong foundation in hands-on solar technology. Andrew holds a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from California Polytechnic State University-San Luis Obispo.
