Amanda J. Smith, Ph.D., currently holds the position of Scientist I in Human Lung Biology at ReCode Therapeutics since February 2024. Prior experience includes serving as a Postdoctoral Research Associate and Graduate Research Assistant at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill from August 2015 to February 2024. In these roles, Amanda conducted extensive research on protein interactions, genetic variants associated with primary ciliary dyskinesia, and developed high-throughput screening assays. Additional experience includes undergraduate research and internships focused on cell culture and genetic variant prevalence investigations. Amanda earned a Ph.D. in Cell Biology and Physiology and a Bachelor of Science with Honors in Biology from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
