Scott Fahrenkrug has an extensive work experience spanning nearly four decades. In 1982, they served as an Honor Guard, Corporal, 3rd US Infantry in the US Army. In 1997, they began working as a Molecular Biologist for the US Department of Agriculture (USDA) Agricultural Research Service (ARS). In 2001, they became an Associate Professor at the University of Minnesota. In 2003, they Co-Founded and served as the Chief Science Officer (CSO) for the Spring Point Project. From 2008 to 2019, they were the Co-Founder, Chief Technology Officer (CTO), Director, CSO, President, Chief Executive Officer (CEO), and Director at Recombinetics. In 2014, they Co-Founded and served as the CEO for Acceligen, Regenevida, and Surrogen. In 2019, they retired from their role as an Entrepreneur and Angel Investor. In 2021, they founded Forjazul.

Scott Fahrenkrug attended the University of Minnesota from 1987 to 1991, where they received a Bachelor of Science in Genetics & Cell Biology and a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology. SCOTT then continued their education at the University of Minnesota, completing their Doctor of Philosophy in Molecular, Cell, Developmental Biology & Genetics (MCDBG) in 1996.
