Deborah Waxman

President And CEO at Reconstructing Judaism

Deborah Waxman has extensive work experience in the field of Judaism and religious education. Deborah started their career in 1999 at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College, where they served as the Assistant to the President and Director of Special Projects until 2005. In 2005, they were promoted to Vice President for Governance and held that role until 2013. In 2014, Waxman joined Reconstructing Judaism as President and CEO, as well as President of the organization. Deborah continues to hold these positions.

Deborah Waxman started their education at Columbia College, Columbia University, where they earned their AB degree in Religion from 1985 to 1989. Deborah then went on to attend the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College and completed their MHL degree in Rabbinics in 1999. Deborah continued their studies at Temple University and attained a Ph.D. in History from 2001 to 2010.
