Senior Sales Engineer at Recorded Future

Mike Carney has a diverse and extensive work experience. Mike began their career in 1992 at the U.S. Department of Homeland Security as a Deputy Special Agent in Charge. In this role, they managed a division and provided oversight to over 200 special agents, analysts, and support staff. Carney played a key role in leading investigations in various areas, including cyber-crimes, financial crimes, drug smuggling, and counter-terrorism. Their leadership resulted in successful investigations of national and international significance, earning recognition for the office's performance in terms of arrests, indictments, convictions, and money seizures. Carney also took the initiative to establish regional law enforcement task forces to address emerging threats to national security.

In 2018, Carney joined Recorded Future as a Threat Intelligence Consultant. Mike then transitioned into the role of Senior Sales Engineer in January 2020.

Mike Carney received their Bachelor's degree in Biology, General from UC San Diego in the period from 1983 to 1990. In addition to their degree, they also obtained the GIAC Certified Incident Handler (GCIH) certification from GIAC Certifications in June 2020 and the CompTIA Security+ ce Certification from CompTIA in February 2018.
