Angel Velez-Rivera

Angel Velez-Rivera has worked as a Software Engineer at Red Alpha since 2012. In this role, they developed a data tracking tool using ExtJs, AngularJS, NiFi, Java, MongoDB, and Groovy/Grails. The tool tracks pieces of data through different systems, providing a status report for monitoring purposes. Angel also developed a new system based on an existing legacy system, utilizing Cloud Computing capabilities such as Hadoop Map/Reduce and Apache Pig. This system processed data and developed a user interface based on customer needs. Prior to their role at Red Alpha, Angel worked as an Intern at the United States Department of Defense in 2011.

Angel Velez-Rivera completed a Bachelor's of Science in Computer Engineering from the Universidad Politecnica de Puerto Rico - San Juan Campus between the years 2008 and 2012.
