Rafael del Rey

Rafael Del Rey has a diverse work experience in various roles and companies. Rafael is currently working as a Principal Data Scientist at Red Canary since September 2021. Prior to this, they worked as a Principal Data Scientist at BMC Software's Innovation Labs, where they developed a unique system using machine learning and optimization techniques to optimize computer workflows.

Before joining BMC Software, Rafael worked at Gupy as a Senior Machine Learning Engineer. During their time at Gupy, they developed large-scale Portuguese language models and created a custom architecture of deep learning models for semantic matching of job descriptions and applicant resumes. Rafael also developed models for Named Entity Recognition to extract relevant entities from job descriptions.

Rafael also has experience as a CEO and Founder of Symbios Technology, where they managed their investment portfolio. Rafael served as the Chief Data Science Officer at imMail and as the Chief Software Architect at Diebold, where they led innovation efforts in fighting phishing scams.

Furthermore, Rafael was the Founder and Chief Technology Officer at GAS Tecnologia. Rafael started as a freelancer programmer and eventually evolved to become a Project Manager and Software Developer. Rafael created anti-piracy and anti-hacker tools, including the successful G-Buster Browser Defense for internet banking users.

Rafael Del Rey holds a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) degree in Organic Chemistry from Universidade Estadual de Campinas, which they obtained from 1997 to 1998. Prior to that, they earned a Master of Science (MS) degree in Organic Chemistry from the same university, completing their studies from 1995 to 1997. Rafael also holds a Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm.) degree from Universidade Federal do Rio de Janeiro, which they completed from 1990 to 1993. Additionally, they have obtained a certification in Amazon Web Services Machine Learning Essential Training from LinkedIn in 2020.
