Julie Arrighi

Julie Arrighi is currently serving as the Director (a.i.) of the Red Cross Red Crescent Climate Centre, a think-tank focused on advancing climate science, policy, and practice to reduce climate change impacts on the most vulnerable. With a background in crisis care counseling and experience in disaster management, Julie has also held various leadership roles at the American Red Cross, including Manager of Climate and Senior Innovation Advisor. Julie has a Master's degree in Climate and Society from Columbia University and a Bachelor's degree in Hydrogeology and Geology from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute.

The Climate Centre’s mission is to help the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and its partners reduce the impacts of climate change and extreme-weather events on vulnerable people. A core objective is to make the best global scientific insights operable at the local level. Key elements include support for awareness-raising and capacity-building, especially in developing countries whose people are the most vulnerable to climate change.
