Tesse de Boer is a Technical Advisor at the Red Cross Red Crescent Climate Centre since October 2020, focusing on climate-smart health and disaster response programming in Asia. Prior experience includes serving as President of Studenten Funsportvereniging D.E.R.M. and Captain at BOATAMSTERDAM.COM, along with an internship at the Swasti Health Resource Center, where Tesse developed a community-based HIV rapid testing program and contributed to various health initiatives in India. Tesse also worked as a Heineken Ambassador, providing tours at the former brewery. An academic background includes a Master of Science in Water Science, Policy and Management from the University of Oxford and an Honors Bachelor Degree in Liberal Arts and Science from Amsterdam University College.

The Climate Centre’s mission is to help the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and its partners reduce the impacts of climate change and extreme-weather events on vulnerable people. A core objective is to make the best global scientific insights operable at the local level. Key elements include support for awareness-raising and capacity-building, especially in developing countries whose people are the most vulnerable to climate change.
