Mario Castro Fernandez

Mario Castro Fernandez is an experienced telecommunications and cybersecurity professional with a robust career at Red Eléctrica since 2002. Currently serving as Jefe del Departamento de Telecomunicaciones and Cybersecurity OT Manager, Mario oversees the entire lifecycle of telecommunications for the Transport Network and is responsible for OT cybersecurity across all electrical transport assets. Previous roles include leading the maintenance of electrical infrastructure in the Central Transport Demarcation and managing national renewal projects, notably the significant MAR project with an investment of 305 million euros. Mario's technical expertise is backed by a solid educational foundation, with advanced degrees in cybersecurity, management, and telecommunications engineering from prestigious institutions.
