Michael Searway

Team Lead at Red Five Security LLC.

Mr. Searway has worked across the private, non-profit, and policy sectors during his 10+ year career, primarily in the Washington, D.C. area. Throughout his varying roles, he has developed and employed research, analysis, communication, and management skills to help clients and partners make better decisions and mitigate risk.

Mr. Searway joined Red Five as a Team Lead in September 2021. Prior to this, he worked as a research analyst and then director for Hanover Research, a custom market research and intelligence firm that serves corporate and education clients. Before joining Hanover, he was the U.S. Coordinator for the Transatlantic Policy Network (TPN), a non-governmental network that aims to strengthen both political and economic ties between the U.S. and the European Union.

Several of the research studies managed by Mr. Searway have been published in client white papers and articles, both in ‘white labeled’ and co-branded formats. His self-written and researched article “European Approaches to Space and Security: Implications for Transatlantic Cooperation” was published in the U.S. Air Force Academy journal Space and Defense, and later cited by CQ (Global Researcher.

Mr. Searway graduated from Westmont College with a BA in Political Science. He also holds an MA in International Affairs from The George Washington University’s Elliott School of International Affairs.

In addition to his professional and academic work, Mr. Searway completed a nine-month research fellowship at the Trinity Forum Academy, where he examined issues at the intersection of religion and foreign affairs. He is also a retired competitive distance runner and received the Intercollegiate (NAIA) Scholar-Athlete Award for cross country in 2006 and 2007.
