Laurent Betbeder has extensive work experience in the field of audio engineering. From 2020, they served as the Head of Audio Engineering at Redpill VR. Between 2016 and 2019, they worked at Oculus VR @ Facebook as a Spatial Audio Engineer, where they designed and implemented a nearfield binaural synthesis algorithm. Prior to that, from 2004 to 2016, Laurent worked at Sony Computer Entertainment America as a Principal Engineer, where they were responsible for the architecture and development of an audio software synthesis framework used in various games. Laurent started their career at Electronic Arts (EA) in 1998 as an Audio Programmer, and prior to that, they worked as a Freelance Musician at Walter Cycloz and as a Physics Teacher at Academie de Paris.
From 1986 to 1987, Laurent Betbeder attended Universite Paris VII Jussieu, where they pursued a master's degree in Physics.
