Rene Sorel

Rene Sorel has a long history of experience in the software and technology industry. Starting in 2007, they have held various positions including Java Consultant for iFactory Consulting, Web Developer for Talooma (Pty) Ltd, Lead Developer for Jobs.co.za, Senior Development Consultant for Symfony Digital Solutions, Director for Developmental (Pty) Ltd, Chief Technical Officer and Head of Technology for Proversity.org, Chief Technology Officer for Virtual Academies, Director of Technology for Pearson Advance, and Chief Executive Officer for Awesome Source LDA. Most recently, they have been appointed as Head of Software for Red Sea Farms.

Rene Sorel completed a National Diploma in Information Technology from the University of South Africa/Universiteit van Suid-Afrika between 2007 and 2011. Prior to that, they completed their High School degree from Diocesan College High School between 1999 and 2003. In addition, they have obtained various certifications from Coursera, including a Game Design and Development Capstone and Specialization in August 2020, a Game Development for Modern Platforms in March 2020, a Business of Games and Entrepreneurship in February 2020, a Principles of Game Design in December 2016, and an Introduction to Game Development in October 2016.
