Matthew Dangel

Matthew Dangel, P.E. is the CEO and Co-Founder of Red Stag Resources, a position held since March 2025. Prior to this, Matthew served as the VP of Reservoir Engineering at Tri-Star Group from July 2023 to February 2025, where responsibilities included developing strategies for a self-sustaining division. Matthew's extensive experience at Hilcorp spanned over a decade, during which roles included Senior Reservoir Engineer, A&D Manager, New Ventures Manager, and Reservoir Engineer, focusing on reservoir characterization, reserve identification, and field exploitation plans. Earlier experience includes work as a Reservoir Engineer and Production Engineer at Chevron, and as a Process Control Engineer at AMD. Matthew holds multiple degrees from Texas A&M University, including a Master’s in Petroleum Engineering and dual Bachelor's degrees in Chemical Engineering and Electrical Engineering.
