Mike Sweeney

Col. Mike Sweeney is the Executive Vice President at REDCOM, responsible for Strategy and all Business Development activities.

Col. Sweeney retired from the U.S. Marine Corps in 2017 after a career that spanned four decades. He served in a variety of command and staff positions including Commanding Officer, Fox Company, 2nd Recruit Training Battalion, Camp Lejeune, NC; Current Operations Chief, U.S. European Command, Stuttgart, Germany; Commanding Officer, II Marine Expeditionary Force Headquarters Group, Camp Lejeune, NC, and Chief of Staff at Marine Corps Special Operations Command and Marine Forces Pacific.

Col. Sweeney has completed multiple combat deployments in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom and served as the Commanding Officer of Task Force Belleau Wood, Helmand Province, Afghanistan from January 2011 to January 2012.

Col. Sweeney is the recipient of multiple military awards and decorations. He graduated from the University of Central Florida with a degree in Design Engineering and has an MBA in Systems Engineering from National University, a Master’s in Systems Engineering from the Naval Postgraduate School, and a Master’s in International Strategic Studies from the U.S. Army War College. He has two adult children and has been married to his wife Anne-Marie for 31 years.
